About

To best describe myself in today’s fast-moving technological world, I prefer to bunch together the following keywords: “public relations,” “marketing,” “blogger,” “social media,” “photojournalist,” “search engine optimization,” and “communication.”

There is this new industry which includes all of the above skill sets, yet there has yet to be a specific name for it. However, I fit all of those roles with experience, knowledge, proven results, and energy going forward into the future.

At my core, helping others and creating awareness is what I do best. I can communicate a message through traditional academic writing, verbally over a loudspeaker, or in the new wave of communication–blogging. I have developed a passion for the Internet and its tremendous effect on all facets of life.

Part of my passion for the online community led to the founding of Tidewater Sports Report (TSR), southeast Virginia’s first and only unique sports news blog. Through TSR, I have discovered and learned the art of blogging, social media, search engine optimization, not to mention honing my writing and photography skills.

The Internet is a powerful tool to communicate a message, but it does not replace the physical element of face-to-face interaction. This is why I am so involved in event marketing, promotions, and public relations. Nothing replaces a memorable concert, festival, or show where large groups of people gather to create a meaningful time.

I’m not sure exactly how to group together all those keywords I mentioned earlier into a clever job title–I just know how to execute jobs based on experience and knowledge in what I do best.
